Three Days in Eastern Cyprus: Beaches, Coast and Local Discoveries

20 October 2026

Three days in eastern Cyprus can feel like a complete escape if you give yourself room to enjoy the coast rather than rushing between attractions. This sample itinerary blends easy beach time, picturesque stops and a relaxed sense of discovery. It is an editorial suggested route, not a report of a trip we personally took.

Day one: arrive and settle into the coast

If you’re landing at Larnaka Airport and staying around Ayia Napa or Protaras, arrange your onward transfer before departure. Once you’ve checked in, keep the first afternoon simple: explore the area around your accommodation, visit a nearby beach and enjoy a leisurely dinner. If you have time in Larnaka, a short waterfront stroll can be an enjoyable start.

Day two: the Cape Greco coastline

Dedicate the day to southeastern Cyprus’s rocky coastal scenery. Choose a few viewpoints, walking areas or bays depending on weather, mobility and available transport. The coastline can be exposed in hot weather, so bring drinking water, sun protection and suitable footwear. Keep a safe distance from cliff edges and follow any local restrictions.

You can spend the later afternoon back at the beach or choose a boat excursion from an established operator. Check its departure point, sea conditions, cancellation policy and what is included in the ticket.

Day three: Protaras and a slow finish

Plan an easy beach morning around Protaras and consider one nearby cove or coastal walk rather than trying to visit every landmark. Families may prefer extra swim time; couples may choose a longer seaside lunch. Keep enough time to collect bags and return to the airport if this is your departure day.

Where should you stay?

Ayia Napa often suits those who enjoy an energetic resort atmosphere, while Protaras is often a calmer seaside base. Larnaka works well when you want a city setting or airport convenience. Your best choice depends on how much you want to drive and where you plan to spend your evenings.

Before you go

  • Check weather and swimming conditions, especially for coastal activities.
  • Book popular boat trips with reasonable cancellation terms.
  • Check beach access and parking restrictions if driving.
  • Confirm transfer arrangements for early or late flights.
  • Avoid cramming distant western Cyprus attractions into a short east-coast itinerary.

Make this mini break easier

This route works best when you stay in one area rather than switching hotels every night. If you have more time, explore our five-day itinerary. If your trip extends west, plan longer travel intervals rather than treating the whole island as a single short day trip.
